Oriental Sketch Challenge #42 on MFPSpeedyTV

This week's Oriental Sketch Challenge #42 uses this sketch:

Here is my card using this sketch:

My card this week uses some new Washi paper I got at a stamp convention I went to last April and I think the flowers from the Asian Delights stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. went well together.  The flowers were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  I also accented the flowers with a white pen and used the Wink of Stella Clear Brush but unfortunately neither one shows up.  The "Beauty" stamp from the same set was stamped in the lower right corner.

I hope you'll play along with us this week you could win a free stamp set!  You will find the challenge HERE. Not a member of MFPSpeedyTV?  Join today it's Free!

Here is my card:

For my card I searched through a number of photos and picked this one of Lake Almanor, California that was taken when we visited our son and his family last year.  It brought back so many wonderful memories.  I die cut the photo using Spellbinders Labels Eight, adhered it to white cardstock, then mounted it to the darker blue cardstock and finally to the lighter blue card base.  The sentiment is from the Nature's Brushstrokes set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. and was stamped in Memento Danube Blue ink.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by.

I used the smaller of the two flower branches from the Branch of Blossoms set this week, stamped them in the corners and added the sentiment in the middle.  I cut the square from the Spellbinders Square set.  I used a piece of cardstock from the Graphic 45 Birdsong papers, which I love and am so sorry it is no longer available.  The background papers were run through my Cuttlebug using the Cuttlebug Plum Blossoms embossing folder.

Here is my card:

For my card I used a new set called Oriental Joy from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  All images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  The background was run through my Cuttlebug using a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder called Lattice.  All the squares were cut and embossed using Spellbinders Squares and after stamping the images they were sponged with a combination of Aged Mahogany and Ripe Persimmon Distress inks to come as close to my base cardstock as possible.

This week's Tutorial Time Challenge is called Cling Wrap Alcohol Background and is brought to you by Lis.  I hope you'll join us and check out the tutorial HERE.  Follow along and create your card for a chance to win a free stamp set.

Here is my card:

To create my background I didn't use the alcohol refills but instead used Distress ink refills on glossy paper.  I used Dusty Concord, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass reinkers.  I stamped my images from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. new stamp set called Bearded Iris.  The iris and sentiment were both stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the iris was colored with Copic markers.  I fussy cut the iris and used dimensionals to raise it.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by.
