SPEEDY FOX & FRIENDS CHALLENGE 271

This week's challenge is to create a card with a beach scene.

Here is my card:

I don't really have any beach type images so I improvised.  For my card, I created the beach scene by tearing some strips of paper for the sand and water.  I stamped the crane from the Birds of the Orient stamp set from MFP Stamp Shop with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the beak and legs with a Copic marker.  The palm tree was cut from my Cricut, the "Beach Time" was cut from an alphabet die set and the large circle was cut from a Spellbinders circle.  I didn't have anything to use as sea shells so I added few sequins instead.  The front panel was then added using dimensions.

I hope you'll join us this week, you can find the challenge HERE.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful creative week.

SPEEDY FOX & FRIENDS CHALLENGE 259

This is my first week joining the MFP Stamp Shop Speedy Fox & Friends Design Team and I am very excited, thank you for stopping by.  This week's challenge is to create a card only using the center of your top layer.

Here is my card:

For the base of my card I used the Darice Butterfly Frame embossing folder and thought the butterfly stamp from the Cracked Hello set and the sentiment from the Birds of the Orient set all from  MFP Stamp Shop would be perfect.  The butterfly was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink once on the card and then I stamped it again, colored with Copic markers, cut it out and then attached it on top with dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush on the butterfly but unfortunately it doesn't show.

I  hope you'll play along with us this week, you can find the Challenge HERE

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful week.

ORIENTAL SKETCH CHALLENGE #75

Last Oriental Sketch Challenge

This will be the last MFP Oriental Sketch Challenge as it will be cancelled.  Our last challenge will be using this sketch:

Here is my card:

For this card I chose the KOI Fish stamp set from MFP Stamp Shop and the KOI embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  The KOI were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  The stitched circle was cut from a My Favorite Things Blueprints 3 die set and the center strip was embossed with the Cuttlebug Tiny Mosaic Texture embossing folder that I thought looked like bubbles.

Even though this is the last Oriental Sketch challenge please play along this week.  You can find the challenge HERE.

I thought I would share with you another card that I had created for the design team.

This card was created using stamps from the Birds of the Orient stamp set and for the grass I used just the tips of one of the tree stamps from the Tree Greetings stamp set.  All stamps are from MFP Stamp Shop.  With the exception of the grass all images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The grass was stamped with New Leaf ink from Papertrey Ink and sponged with Shabby Shutters Distress ink.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful week.

FOSTV160 - UNDER THE SEA

I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge.  You are to create a card using the theme under the sea.

Here is my card:

For my card I chose stamps from a number of sets from  MFP Stamp Shop.  The fish are from Wealthy Fish, the underwater "leaves" are from Be Virtuous,  the sentiments are from both Birds of the Orient and Paper Doll Formal Wear.  For the fish, the one on the right was stamped as usual but the one on the left was stamped on a solid piece of rubber to get a mirror image.  Both fish were then cut out and adhered to the designer paper.

I hope you'll play along with us this week.  You can find the Friends of SpeedyTV challenge HERE.

FOSTV159 - HAND MADE FLOWERS

I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge.  You are to create a card using hand made flowers.

Here is my card:

For my card this week I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Birds of the Orient stamp set from MFP Stamp Shop and stamped it using Versafine Onyx Black ink.  For my hand made flowers I die cut different size heart dies putting four hearts from each size together to create the flowers and the center was a small flower punch.  Clear Wink of Stella Brush was then added to the flowers for a little sparkle.  The leaves and swirl die is from Heartfelt Creations which I cut up to rearrange the shape.  The butterfly is a die from Cheery Lynn Designs and was sponged with Distress ink.  All of the elements were then attached to a Spellbinders Labels Twenty One.  The background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder from the Decorative Tile Set.

I hope you'll play along with us this week.  You can find the Friends of SpeedyTV challenge HERE.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful week.

Welcome to the Marks Finest Papers Stamp Shop
February Blog Hop

We're doing something different to start out the new year.  We're looking back at all the wonderful sets released in 2014.  For the next 4 days the Oriental Sketch Challenge Design Team will show you their "Favorite Oriental" sets of 2014.  Please visit each blog and leave a comment.  One person will be chosen to receive this Oriental Stamp Set.

Birds of the Orient
Birds of the Orient

For our final day of the Oriental Sketch Challenge February Blog Hop I've chosen to use the Birds of the Orient and Works of Art stamps sets.  I stamped the background from the Works of Art stamp set in Jet Black Archival Ink and sponged it with Broken China, Salty Ocean, Victorian Velvet and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks.  Spellbinders Petite Small Oval die was used to cut the sentiment.  As an added touch I edged both the sentiment and card front with a Silver Leafing Pen.  I think this would make a great masculine card.

Please hop along with us!  You have a chance to win the Birds of the Orient set!  Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win!  (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day!  The names are drawn randomly!)  The winner will be announced on Feb. 28, 2015 on the MFP Stamp Shop blog.  You can go back and comment if you missed a day.  (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!)

The deadline for commenting is 10 PM on Friday Feb. 27, 2015

Let's get started!!
