Online Card Class - Day 2 Tracing

I wasn't able to try all the techniques today there just wasn't enough time but I did complete one that Kristina Werner showed.  She called it tracing and used watercolor pencils.

Here are my cards:

Both the heart and star stencils are from Plaid.   Both sentiments were stamped in Versafine black ink.  The stencils were placed over the white panel and colored inside using Inktense pencils in an up and down motion to create a sketched look.  The black panel was punched on one edge with the Martha Stewart Cherish punch and then embossed with the James embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  The dash line was stamped with a Simon Says Stamp.  The stenciled panel is adhered to the black panel and then adhered to the card front using pop dots.  The left bottom corner is rounded with a 1/2" Corner Chomper.

Thank you for visiting.

Online Card Class Stenciled - Day 1 Heat Embossing Card 3

The third card I completed is to heat emboss and sponge.  Here is my card:

A Hero Arts Large Lotus Pattern stencil was used for this card and I used Versamark ink, embossed with clear embossing powder and then sponged Shabby Shutters and Mowed Laws Distress inks.  The next step was to add some thread and tissue paper before adding my sentiment.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps and was cut out using a Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle die.

Now I'm off to see what Day 2 brings.

Online Card Class - Stenciled Day 1 Misting Card 2

The second technique is Misting and here is my card:

For this card I used a Heidi Swapp dots stencil and used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in shades of Patina and Bronze.  The "happy" is a die from Simon Says Stamp and I cut it out 6 times and glued each together and added pop dots to raise it up.  The birthday stamp is from Hero Arts and the sequins are from Lawn Fawn.

Now it's back for my next card.

Online Card Class Stenciled - Day 1 Card 1

I am taking an Online Card Class called Stenciled and yesterday was the first day. The homework assignment was to create a card using sponging and adding a vellum tag so here is my card:

For this card I used a Mini Quatrefoil stencil from The Crafters Workshop and used Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.  The vellum tag was cut with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tabs and Tags die.  I stamped the hearts and sentiment from Verve Stamps in Versamark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder.  I added some embroidery thread and attached the tag with pop dots.  For accent I added metal dots.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.

This week's challenge on Oriental Stamp Art (OSA) was to create something using Mizuhiki cording.  Well let me tell you something...it was a whole lot harder (for me anyway) than it looks.  I went to You Tube and was following one of the videos and of course it took me a lot longer than the person demonstrating but one of the reasons may have been  because it was in Japanese and unfortunately I don't understand Japanese.  It didn't turn out anything like what I was watching but I finally had to stop and just say "it is what it is".  Anyway, here is my take on trying to create something with Mizuhiki cording.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Every Sunday Oriental Stamp Art (OSA) hosts a challenge and last Sunday it was the one sheet wonder challenge where you use a 12"x12" sheet of paper and create as many cards as you can.  I wasn't able to get it done in time but I did complete the challenge today and I was able to create 10 cards but I used one 8"x12" sheet of Washi paper instead of a 12"x12".  It was very challenging but  I did have a lot of fun and it was well worth it in that it forced me to come up with a number of different designs.

Here is the paper I used:
